Contact Lens Image

At Levine Eye Center, we strive to meet all of your eye and vision care needs. After a comprehensive eye and vision evaluation, Dr. Marie Levine or Dr. Chelsea Levine-Cusenza can discuss the variety of contact lens options with you to select the type that best fits your vision needs and lifestyle. All of our new fittings include the evaluation, trial lenses, sample cleaning solutions, and follow up evaulation. After you decide which lenses work for you, a prescription for contacts will be finalized and a supply can be ordered.

Evaluation

Prior to prescribing contact lenses, the doctor will determine what level of vision correction you require. Refractive error (commonly known as nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism depending on the error) is evaluated by measuring how the eyes focus when a series of different lenses are placed in front of them. This is done during your comprehensive eye exam. To schedule an appointment for a vision evaluation or contact lens fitting with one of our optometrists, call 201-438-4418 today.

Contact Lens Selection

After determining the level of refractive error, the doctor will work with you to determine what type of contact lenses will work best for you. Contact lenses are available in either soft or rigid gas permeable form. Contact lenses need to be changed daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on what type of lens you select. Specialized contact lenses, such as bifocal contact lenses, are also available for patients who need additional reading power while wearing their contacts. Call us at 201-438-4418 if you are interested in learning if contact lenses are a good fit for you.

Specialty Contact Lenses

Doctors Levine and Cusenza also fit specialty lenses including scleral lenses, lenses to treat keratoconus, and lenses to help correct other corneal abnormalities. To find out more information on specialty lens fittings please call our Rutherford office at 201-438-4418

Cosmetic Lenses

Advances in contact lens technology have created great options for cosmetic and prosthetic lenses. Cosmetic lenses are available to transform your eye color and there are many colors to choose from. Custom contact lenses can be created to camouflage any color variation or irregularity and produce a natural eye color.
